COVID-19 Response from MLC

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In light of the recent developments with the outbreak of COVID-19 virus, Morningside Lutheran stands at an unprecedented time in recent history. As people who are loved by God, our hope is to lay out a plan that takes this outbreak seriously while considering how we can meet the spiritual and other needs of our congregation and community. We intend to take the following steps while continuing to be flexible as we regularly monitor suggestions from local and federal government, medical, and educational bodies.

We will be suspending all live worship gatherings until further notice. Instead, we will be ramping up our online presence for both worship and community connections along with using other methods of communication to stay connected as a body such as radio, mail, telephone, etc. Please go to to tune into any and all of our live streamed worship services at our regular worship times.

We will suspend all groups meeting in the facility until further notice. This includes, but is not limited to: Morningside Lutheran Preschool, athletic activities, Bible Studies, and fellowship groups. Food Pantry ministry will continue in a revised manner with the health and safety of participants and volunteers as of utmost importance. At this time, staff will still keep regular business hours and do our best to help brainstorm and execute alternate methods of staying connected with the people our ministries serve.

As we look to social distancing for the near future, we would like to encourage you to sign up for online giving. Simply follow this link: to get signed up. If you have questions please feel free to contact the church office and someone from our staff would be happy to assist you in getting set up.

We recognize that these are uncertain times for many. We, in no way, intend to stop being the Church to each other or the community because of the present circumstances, so we will call on the congregation to help us in reaching out to those who are in need among us. We encourage everyone to take this time to be the hands and feet of Jesus within their own realm of influence, making phone calls or sending notes to those who need encouragement, making sure your friends, families, and neighbors have the supplies they need and helping in any way you can. Finally, and most importantly, we intend to be in prayer as staff, leadership and congregation for our church, community, country, and our world.

God’s Peace to you all.
