Morningside Lutheran wants to help bring children to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and to nurture and grow their faith so they may become lifelong believers and disciplies of Jesus -- and to have fun doing it!
Sunday Mornings 9:30-10:30 am
KidZone is available during the school year at 9:30 am for three year olds (potty trained) through 5th grade. Preschool through TK meet in their classrooms for KidZone, which is tailored to the needs and development of preschoolers! Preschoolers learn about the love of Jesus through storytelling, puppets, lessons, crafts, music and snacks. Kindergarten through Fifth Graders learn about the love of Jesus in a Sunday School format which follows our Sunday morning "Believe" curriculum. Children meet in the Kitchen Lounge and then move to their individual classrooms.
11:00 am KIDS Church is offered on Sundays during the school year for children Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Children start by worshiping with their families in the sanctuary until the pastor dismisses them for KIDS Church (approximately 11:25 am). Kids then meet our Children's Ministry Team at the back of the sanctuary and make their way together to the large preschool room downstairs. KIDS Church includes music, games, object lessons and stories, all to help kids learn to apply Biblical truths to their own young lives.
Wednesday Evenings 6:30-7:30 pm (K-3) 6:30-8:00 pm (4-5) Welcome to KidZone After Hours! School age kids from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade are invited to meet Jesus through stories, games, music, projects, missions, life application and much more each Wednesday night. Meet in the MLC large preschool room each Wednesday night to join in the fun! Children will be split into two groups for the first hour based on age and the final 30 minutes will be small group discussion with older students to get to know Christ deeper.
We believe your child is a special gift from God! Children are an important part of the life and ministry of Morningside Lutheran. We hope you feel welcome and a part of our program, through the people and activities that God has placed in this ministry. Just as Jesus received, accepted and blessed children, we seek to do the same. “Jesus said, ’Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.’” Mark 10:14
Nursery Schedule Sunday Mornings at the 9:30am & 11:00am services
Watch the bulletin and newsletter for nursery availability during classes or other offerings.
There is no one available to watch your child until 15 minutes prior to service times. Please make a note not to drop off your child before the appropriate time. For the safety of your child, please be sure to follow our check-in and pick up procedures.
Check In & Pick Up Procedures
Nursery care is available for children from birth through age four. When visiting the nursery for the first time, you will be asked to complete a new child information sheet.
Check-In When you check in, we will ask that you sign your child into the nursery at the nursery door. There you will receive a pager with a security number. Write this number on your child’s name tag and place it on his or her back. Please remember to label all of your child’s belongings before entering the room; this helps eliminate confusion.
Pick Up To pick up your child, please return to the nursery counter where your child’s security numbers and pager will be matched. Only a parent with a matching pager will be allowed to remove a child from the nursery.
Health Guidelines We want to provide a healthy environment in our nursery, so we ask you to keep your child at home when you observe any of the following: fever, vomiting, discharge in or around the eyes, green or yellow diarrhea, runny nose, excessive coughing, questionable rash, and/or any communicable disease (including head lice).
If your child becomes ill while in the nursery, you will be notified immediately. If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, he or she should have received treatment for at least 48 hours before coming to the nursery. For your child’s protection, we also ask our caregivers to follow these same guidelines.
